Prediction and Awards Season
The start of August and I am sitting in front of a laptop doing NBA playoff predictions and next week I’ll be sitting in front of the same laptop doing champions league predictions. Who could have predicted this? Anyway we are here and we will all be making the most of the situation we are all in. Here are my NBA Awards and Predictions:
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
This is the easiest category for me. It is Ja Morant. He has been the best player on his Memphis Grizzles team as he leads them in both points and assists and the best player from last year’s draft class. One of my favourite NFL quotes is “the best ability is availability.” This means for all the talent an athlete may have if they are not available to play their talent cannot be utilised. So yes when Zion Williamson has been playing he has been electric and it is ‘must see TV’ but the key word here is ‘when’. He has missed a lot of games and when he does play the amount of minutes he plays is limited. Ja Morant is there every game leading them towards the playoffs. Zion Williamson is not.
