Mind The Gap
First order of business I hope you all watched Lewis Hamilton win yesterday.
Now to the matter at hand. I really did not want to write this first part, but by December I think we all knew we would all have to do this. Yes, you are right. We have to reluctantly congratulate Liverpool on their successful season. In all seriousness they were very good. When they officially won the league they had won 28 out 31 matches. That is an incredible achievement. I also hate the idea put about by some people, that this season does not count because of the break. The fact is they had won this league before we were all giving and receiving our Christmas gifts. The break only stopped the inevitable.
It has been five years since Liverpool made the decision to hire Jurgen Klopp as a manager and since then they remained patient and made the right decisions, even when everyone around them was winning trophies. They always trusted their process. Five years later, they are the Champions of England, Europe and the World and they believe they have the makings of a squad that can dominate for the next few years. Having said all of that nonsense I think it would be best to look at next season and if any team can close this gap or better still challenge them.
